Roads of yearning: Ryan Wilson’s tumblr

Only a few people can probably understand what a cyclist feels when looking at Ryan Wilson’s photos. That is simply because winding roads and descents wreathed in mist only cause such attraction among cyclists. Maybe a motorcyclist can somehow echo the feeling of going up and down a mountain pass with 20 switchbacks. What the motorcyclist cannot discribe is how the breathing gets harder in the thin air. He cannot describe the fatigue that eventually leads to cramps. And he cannot recapture the sensation if you go past this pain and reach the summit.

Ryan’s blog, his photos (that have been featured on The Radavist also) narrate these stories – without showing a bike or it’s rider. When the leafes now start turning yellow, winter slowly approches and you maybe cannot go on the long rides you would like to go on: Give in to the yearning for warm weather, fresh tarmac and hills, mountains and valleys. And check out „The graded road“ tumblr.
